About the local offer

icon--about

The local offer supports young people making the transition from care to adulthood.

We're here to help make sure you know what services are available to you and what you can expect to receive when you leave care.

If you are leaving care, or have already left care, this doesn't mean that we don't care about you and don't want to continue to support you. We want to make sure that you feel safe and supported and know where to go for advice and help.

We call our local offer for care leavers 'Gateshead has your back'. It tells you about the support that we have in place so you can make the make the most of the services available to you as you grow into independent and confident adults.

The best thing about the local offer is that we will continue to work with young people and partners to improve Gateshead has your back to achieve the best we can for you.

To be eligible for support you must be a Gateshead care leaver who has been in care for at least 13 weeks.
